Spring break in the desert

We rented a small place outside Moab and spent most of the week outdoors. The kids found the rhythm of long hikes faster than we did — by day three they were leading.

Highlights: the slow drive in along the river, the morning light on the rocks at Arches, an unexpectedly excellent pizza place we'd never have picked from a menu. Photos in the gallery.

Note for next time: bring more water than you think you need. Always.
